Short Term Recovery provides a solution allowing a senior to recover at their Myrtle Beach home following a surgery, an illness, an accident, etc.

The care someone receives during the first 30 days at home is often critical to ensuring long-term recovery. The omission of care following a hospital stay can result in mistakes made in medications, missed follow-up appointments, poor nutrition, dehydration, and lack of safety preparations.

Home Instead Senior Care understands the stress of an ailment. This can be a difficult adjustment period with many emotions, frustration, anger, and/or resentment.

Our Short Term Recovery Service for hospital releases includes:

• Collaborating with the discharge planner to develop a detailed care plan, relieving the stress for the client and family of remembering specific instructions during an emotional time

• Picking up any prescriptions and providing medication reminders

• Transportation for follow-up appointments, ensuring the client is properly groomed, transported, escorted, returned home and is comfortably situated

• Grocery Shopping and meal preparation ensuring healthy foods are consumed, along with tracking hydration to aid in recovery

• Emotional support through companionship and conversation
